KONIBDOM, August 12, 2009 Asia-Plus  — The project, Facilitating Agricultural Reforms and Marketing in Sughd, has been launched in Sughd’s Konibodom district, Asia-Plus has learned from Ms. Musharraf Hasanova, the chairperson of the Konibodom-based NGO Payvandi Shahrvandon.

According to her, the project, aims to improve economic performance in the agricultural sector in the Sughd oblast, by developing the performance of emerging farm enterprises and promoting community-driven rural economic development, while assisting independent farmers in understanding and exercising their legal rights, has already worked in Zafarobod, Spitamen, Jabborrasulov and Mastchoh district.

The project is sponsored by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).

The project includes conducting two-day training seminars for heads, deputy heads, chief accountants and accountants of all eight farmers’ associations throughout the Sughd province, Hasanova said.
