Industrial production has decreased by 2.1 % and has been 4432.4 billion KZT in Kazakhstan in January – July, 2009 in comparison with the similar period of the last year, Statistics Agency of Kazakhstan reports.

“In January – July, 2009, production volumes in comparison with the same period of the last year have decreased by 2.1 %. Volume of production has decreased in 10 regions of the Republic. Production volume in the Western Kazakhstan and Mangistau areas amounts the level of the last year.”

Index of the physical volume of production in the mining industry has been 103.2 % in January – July 2009. Extraction of natural gas (106.2 %, 20.6 billion cubic meters), crude oil and passing gas (105.4 %, 43.6 million tons) has increased. Extraction of metal ores, as a whole, has decreased by 8.5 %. Extraction of iron ores has decreased by 23.4 % and extraction of ores of nonferrous metals – by 3.4 %. Coal mining has reduced its output by 19 %.
