DUSHANBE, August 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — As of July 31, 2009, capital of open joint-stock company (OJSC) Agroinvestbonk amounted to more than 205.5 million somoni, which is 87.5 million somoni more than of the same date of last year, according to Agroinvestbonk’s headquarters in Dushanbe.

In the meantime, the bank’s net profit fell more than three times in the year to July 31, 2009 – from more than 9.4 million somoni on July 31, 2008 to little more than 3.1 million somoni.

More than 233.9 million US dollars, more than 3.7697 billion Russian rubles and more than 1.2 million euros have been remitted to Agroinvestbonk over the first seven months of this year.

Over the same seven-month period, the bank has provided more than 421 million somoni in loans.  Agroinvestbonk is one of the leading providers of finance to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and the agricultural sector in the country and more than 165.5 million somoni of the mentioned amount have been provided in microloans 

Founded in 1992, Agroinvestbonk, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has main branches in Khorog, Khujand, Kulob and Qurghon Teppa and 61 other branches across the republic.
