DUSHANBE, August 31, 2009, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon has issued a decree endorsing the plan of laying out orchards and vineyards in Tajikistan for 2010-2014, according to presidential press service.

The plan has been worked out to promote further development of gardening and viticulture in the country, market saturation, as well as providing food security and increasing fruit exports.

The ministry of agriculture and other involved organizations are to define planning of layout of gardens and vineyards in the regions of the country within two months.

Relevant ministries and departments are charged to take additional measures to attract foreign and local investments for layout of new fruit orchards and vineyards, the press service said.
