KHUJAND, September 3, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Two drug pushers have been detained in the Sughd province.

According to the Sughd police directorate, the 26-year-old resident of the Hissor district Salohiddin Asoyev and the 28-year-old resident of the Ishkashim district Aydmamad Sherdilov were detained in the city of Chkalovsk on September 1 when they were trying to push 1.048 kilograms of hashish for 500 U.S. dollars.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of Article 200, Part 3 (drug trafficking) and an investigation is under way.
