DUSHANBE, September 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Visiting Indian President Pratibha Patil has called on the countries of the region to combine efforts to fight international terrorism that poses threat to security of the whole world.

Speaking to reporters after the Tajik-Indian negotiations, Ms. Patil said in Dushanbe today that the countries of the region should take urgent measures to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.  According to her, spread of intolerance and hatred poses threat to the whole world.  “We support Tajikistan’s efforts to fight terrorism,” President Patil said.

She noted that that India intended to expand cooperation with Tajikistan in different fields, including education.
