DUSHANBE, September 7, 2009, Asia-Plus  — On Monday September 7, visiting Indian President Pratibha Patil held talks with Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Saydullo Khairulloyev.

Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the two had considered issues related to cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

The sides noted that both countries had laid necessary legal foundation for expansion of economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between them.

Tajik speaker, in particular, noted that the parliamentary group for Tajik-Indian friendship would do all in its power to promote further expansion of cooperation between the two countries.

President Patil invited Saydullo Khairulloyev to pay visit to India, the spokesman said.
