DUSHANBE, September 8, Asia-Plus  — China’s energy company, Huanen (phonetically spelled), is ready to invest in construction of large hydroelectric power plants in Tajikistan, press service of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) said.

The company top manager Li Hinmin (phonetically spelled) noted this during a meeting with the CCI head Sharif Said that was held last week in Urumqi (China) on sidelines of the 18th international foreign trade exhibition, the press service said.

In the course of the talks, Said and Li discussed a broad range of issues related to prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Said briefed Li on trade and economic potential and natural resources of Tajikistan.  He, in particular, noted that Tajikistan that had rich reserves of water and power resources intended to implement the program for construction of new hydropower plants.

The top manager of the Chinese company, for his part, expressed readiness for investing in construction of large hydropower plants in Tajikistan.

The CCI head invited Mr. Li to visit Tajikistan in order to get acquainted with investment economic projects and achievements of the republic, the CCI press service noted.
