DUSHANBE, September 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — With support from national media, the Media Alliance of Tajikistan Association intends to install a special database of contacts of journalists and media of the country.

According to Tajik Journalists’ Union, this database will serve as basis for setting up a special center for warning of crisis situations in which Tajik journalists may find themselves.  “The Media Alliance will offer journalists to send their contact details to the center coordinator for putting them on the database,” the source said.

Besides, to improve exchange of information the Media intends to offer print media to establish a free newspaper pool.  “Each print media will provide a certain number of its newspapers to the pool free of charge by the number of print media participating in the pool (30-40 newspapers),” the source said, noting that that would allow journalists and editors having an opportunity to analyze and use experience, information and subject areas of their colleagues.
