KULOB, September 14, 2009, Asia-Plus  — In January-August 2009, the city of Kulob has produced a total of 26.0363 million somoni worth of industrial goods, which is 3.34 million somoni more than it was originally planned, Ms. Shahzoda Qayumova, the chairperson of the economy department within the Kulob mayor’s office, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to her, good results have been yielded due to small enterprises that have produced 11.176 million somoni worth f goods over the report period.  “Local small enterprises have produced more than 6,420 tons of wheat flour, 1,200 tons of breads and bakery products, 340 tons of cooking (cotton) oil, 16 tons of sausages, 450 tons of meat, as well as 75,000 conventional jars of sealed foods over the same eight-month period,” Qayumova said.

In the meantime, local large enterprises such as firm Davron-K, cotton-ginning factory Zarkham and textile factory Kulobtextiles have failed to fulfill their targets for January-August 2009.
