Tajik gold-mining company introduces new cradle equipment into operation

DUSHANBE, September 29, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Limited liability company, Soyuz-Zar, producing gold in the southern Khatlon province, introduced the new cradle equipment into operation at the end of last week, Ms. Tojinisso Azizova, a spokeswoman for the Ministry of energy and Industries, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.

According to her, capacity of the new cradle equipment is 30 cubic meters of gold-containing rocks per day.  “Introduction of the cradle equipment into operation has allowed increasing the number of staffers of the company to 50 people,” said Azizova, “Soyuz-Zar intends to double its personnel by the end of this year.”

According to the Ministry of Energy and Industries, Soyuz-Zar get operating license in September 2004.

Tajikistan has 28 known gold deposits containing an estimated 429.3 tons of gold.  Most of gold produced in Tajikistan comes from the Jilau deposit operated by the Zeravshan Gold Company (ZGC).
