DUSHANBE, October 9, 2009, Asia-Plus — Another drug peddler was detained at the Dushanbe airport yesterday, according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA).
Dushanbe resident A.S. was going to travel to Samara (Russia) with drugs in his stomach. The DCA press service says the peddler ingested 62 wraps of narcotic drug that was tested positive to heroin weighing more than 400 grams.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the drug peddler under the provisions of Article 200, Part 3 (trafficking in narcotics or psychotropic substances), Article 32, Part 3 (preparation for crime) and Article 289, Part 2 (contraband) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code and an investigation is under way.
