DUSHANBE, October 9, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have signed four cooperation agreements.

On Friday October 9, 2009, Tajik and Turkmen government delegations signed four cooperation agreements on sidelines of President Emomali Rahmon’s working visit to Turkmenistan.

Presidential press secretary Abdufattoh Sharifzoda said that President Emomali Rahmon and his Turkmen counterpart, President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, singed a joint Tajik-Turkmen communiqué.

Besides, Tajik and Turkmen ministers singed an agreement on establishment on Tajik-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation, a protocol on cooperation between the MFAs of the two countries, and an agreement on cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in the sphere of sports and physical culture.

We will recall that State Adviser to the President for International Affairs Erkin Rahmatulloyev, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, Energy and Industries Minister Gul Sherali, Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov, Barqi Tojik power holding head Sanat Rahimov, and the head of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs Maliksho Nematov are accompanying President Rahmon on his two-day working visit to Turkmenistan that started today.
