DUSHANBE, October 13, 2009, Asia-Plus — Tajik police have disclosed the name of the main suspect in the killing of an employee of the currency exchange office in Dushanbe.

The source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) says it is resident of the Roudaki district Ilhom Rustamov who has previous convictions for theft and robbery.  “His two accessories are currently wanted by police,” the source said.

We will recall that Manouchehr Mirzoyev, an employee of the currency exchange office in the center of Dushanbe, was killed on September 23.  Unidentified persons entered the currency exchange office and inflicted 10 stab wounds on him.  Mirzoyev died on the way to the hospital.

“According to one of versions, Mirzoyev lent a large amount of money to his acquaintance, who failed to pay off the debt in time.  A conflict arose between them on this subject and the debtor complained to his friends, who recently returned from Russia, of his creditor and they promised to solve the problem,” the source said.
