DUSHANBE, October 23, 2009, Asia-Plus  — More than 950 families have been moved from an area for construction of a reservoir of the Roghun hydroelectric plant (HPP) this year, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Shukurjon Zuhurov remake data news conference I Dushanbe on October 22.

According to him, 541 families from villages near the city of Roghun and 410 families from the Nourobod district have been relocated to Khatlon’s Danghara district and the Tursunzoda district in central Tajikistan.

“In all, we have to relocate 40 villages, totaling 4,700 families, from the area for the Roghun reservoir to other districts of the country,” said the minister, “More than 3,000 other families will be relocated to mountain areas of the Nourobod district.”

Besides, the ministry has submitted a three-year program for resettlement of 3,019 families for consideration to the government, Zuhurov added.
