DUSHANBE, October 27, 2009, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon is visiting Nourobod, Tojikobod and Rasht districts today.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Rahmon will attend ceremonies of an official opening of two bridges across the Surkhob River in the Rasht Valley.
The bridge with capacity of 120 tons has been built in the Tojikobod district the framework of the Dushanbe–Kyrgyz Border Road Rehabilitation Project, which is implemented under financial support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Rahmon will also attend an official opening of a 30-ton bridge across the Surkhob River near the village of Yangolik that has been built within the framework of the Rural Poverty Reduction Project in Tajikistan, which is sponsored by ADB’s Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction (JFPR)m the source said.
Besides, President Rahmon will inaugurate a new three-story school to accommodate 1,176 pupils in Darband, the administrative center of the Nourobod district, the source at the Ministry of Education (MoE) said. The school has been built due to funds allocated from the local budget.
During his stay in Darband, Rahmon will also attend an official opening of a new three-story building for the central district hospital with 100 beds, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH). 7 million somoni have been provided from the national budget for construction of the hospital building.
