DUSHANBE, November 18, 2009, Asia-Plus  — Two Iranian companies intend to launch joint ventures for producing saving-energy light bulbs, also known as compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), in Tajikistan, Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ali-Asghar Sherdoust, told reporters in Dushanbe on November 17.

According to him, quality of CFLs produced by Iranian companies is higher than of those produced in China and Iranian companies give a three-year warrant on their CFLs.  “I think the launch of these joint ventures will be one of issues that will be discussed during the upcoming visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Tajikistan,” Sherdoust added.

Iranian diplomat also noted that joint ventures for processing farm produce would be launched in Tajikistan in the near future.  “Two Iranian companies have initiated this project and they have also come on agreement with the Tajik side on this subject,” he said.
