DUSHANBE, December 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — As it had been reported earlier, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will arrive in Tajikistan on January 6, 2010 on an official two-day visit.

Davlat Nazri, the head of the Tajik MFA information department, told Asia-Plus today that the course of implementation of cooperation agreements reached between Tajikistan and Iran to this day will figure in Ahmadinejad’s discussions with high-ranking Tajik state officials.

According to him, bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the energy, communications and agrarian sectors is expected to be a major topic of the Tajik-Iranian negotiations at the highest level.

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Tajik expert Rashid Ghani Abdullo noted that Iran has been Muslim largest investor in Tajikistan’s economy this year.  “Most likely, Iran will remain Muslim largest Tajikistan’s investor in 2010 as well,” he expert said.
