DUSHANBE, December 28, 2009, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Drug Control Agency (DCA) jointly with employees of the State Service for Supervision of Pharmaceutical Activity have confiscated a large number of medicines containing narcotic drugs that were illegally kept at a number of drugstores and medical facilities, according to the DCA press service.

Some 1,300 ampoules containing fetanil (synthetic narcotic drug), which is widely used in oncology and surgery, were destroyed in Dushanbe on Friday, December 25.

The fetanil ampoules were confiscated during joint inspection of drugstores and medical facilities for compliance with requirements of realization of medicines containing narcotics drugs, the pres service said.
