KHUJAND, December 30, 2009, Asia-Plus — The Khujand infectious disease has received modern equipment provided by the Global Fund to AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
According to the hospital head physician Sharif Rajabov, the new equipment has allowed providing assistance to four patients that were in critical health condition.
“The equipment, manufactured in China and Europe, is intended for providing emergency cover to patients and treating new types of influenza,” said Rajabov, “We have received six sets of different equipment, including equipment for resuscitation department and recycling equipment.” The set includes the device for artificial lung ventilation and automatic patient monitoring system, he added.
Rajabov added that 32 persons have undergone treatment for seasonal flu and 310 others have undergone treatment for acute respiratory diseases at the hospital this month.
