KULOB, January 25, 2010, Asia-Plus — In 2009, 657.229 kilograms of drugs, including more than 70 kilograms of heroin, were seized in Khatlon’s Shuroobod district bordering on Afghanistan, Asia-Plus has learned from Shuroobod chairman Ibrohim Azizov.

Over the report period, local law enforcement officers confiscated 18 firearms and 545 bullets of different caliber from drug traffickers and local population, the district chairman noted.
