According to him, five countries were the main investors in Tajikistan last year – Russia, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, the Netherlands and China.

“In all, 159.1 million U.S. dollars of foreign investments came to Tajikistan in 2009; of this amount, US$36.8 million came from Russia, US$26.1 million from Kazakhstan, US$10.1 million from Great Britain, US$9 million from the Netherlands, US$6.8 million from China, US$1.9 million from Iran, US$1.4 million from India and the remainder came from other countries,” the GosKomInvest head noted.

The global financial crisis has seriously affected investment inflows into the country, Saidov said, noting that some 365 million U.S. dollars of foreign investments came to Tajikistan in 2008.
