We remind that two judges of the Supreme Court of Tajikistan Nur Nurov and Ulugbek Mahmadshoev and a judge of the Dushanbe city court Fakhriddin Dodometov have filed a lawsuit against three Tajik newspapers and lawyer Solejon Juraev claiming to defend their honor and dignity, business reputation and claim 5.5 million Somoni (more than $1.250.000) for moral damage.
They also claim to suspend the activity of the listed above editions till the final decision of the court in accordance with the article 142-143 of the Civil and Procedural Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. The dispute emerged after publication of an article about the court’s decision against a 31-year-old resident of Isfara lauded by the lawyer at a press conference.
Lawyer Juarev blamed Nur Nurov who presided over the trial of violation of defendants’ rights and called the sentence unfair.
