DUSHANBE, May 6, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajik-Russian joint textile enterprise, Dushanbetex, has officially opened in Dushanbe today.

Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, says the enterprise with capacity of processing 4,000 tons of cotton per year has been launched in the framework of the mayor’s office projects for attraction of investments for industrial development.

The joint venture was launched by open-joint stock company (OJSC) Tajiktekstil (Tajik Textile) and the Moscow limited liability company, Biznes Resheniye (Business Solution).

The sides have spent some 4 million U.S dollars for implementation of this project and the joint venture has created 150 new jobs for residents of Dushanbe, the spokesman said.
