DUSHANBE, May 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — An international festival of classical music, Bahoriston (The Spring), devoted to the 200th birthdays of Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann took place at Tajikistan’s National Conservatory named after Talabsho Sattorov in Dushanbe on May 14-17, according to the Ministry of Culture (MoC).

National Conservatory named after Kurmangazy from Kazakhstan, National Conservatory from Kyrgyzstan as well as the Moscow State Conservatory named after Pyotr Tchaikovsky, the Ural State Conservatory named after Modest Mussorgsky and the Chelyabinsk State Academy of Culture and Arts from Russia participated in the Bahoriston Festival, the source at MoC said.

Besides, known musicians from Kazakhstan and Russia conducted master classes for Tajik students.

On Saturday May 15, Minister of Culture Mirzshorukh Asrori met with the festival participants.
