DUSHANBE, May 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — In January-April 2010, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 2.3 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 535 million U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to January-April 2009 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 116 percent.
Over the first four months of this year, 401 enterprises (49.2 percent) exceeded the January-April 2009 production level. In the meantime, 327 enterprises, or 39.5 percent of the overall number (827), were not in operation.
Enterprises subject to the Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) have produced 675.5 million worth of goods over the same four-month period, which is 39.4 percent more than in the same period last year.
Enterprises that are not subject to a MoE have produced 987.7 million worth of goods over the report period, which is 12.4 percent more than in January-April 2009.
