DUSHANBE, May 17, 2010, Asia-Plus  — Tajikistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) for the first four months of this year has amounted to more than 5.38 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 1.23 billion U.S. dollars), which is 7.2 percent more than for January-April 2009, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

GDP structure by sources of income included: production of services – 57 percent; production of goods – 30 percent; and taxes – 13 percent.

We will recall that the country’s GDP for January-March 20010 amounted to more than 3.9 billion somoni (equivalent to more that 892 million U.S. dollars) and the gross domestic product for 2009 was 20.622 billion somoni (more than US$4.7 billion at the exchange rate for early January 2010).
