KULOB, May 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday May 18, a group of representatives from a number of diplomatic missions and international organizations active in the country visited the tent city for the flood-affected people in the city of Kulob.

Suhrobsho Farrukhshoyev, a spokesman for the Kulob mayor’s office, says they expressed satisfaction with conditions provided for a such large number of people.

According to him, the guests also answered in the affirmative to request of local authorities for assistance with construction of water supply system in new places for settlement of the flood-affected people.  “The international organizations will make a final decision on providing assistance after studying the situation,” the spokesman said.
