KHOROG. June 3. “Asia-Plus” — Results of a school essay and drawing contest to the theme “Labor migration and HIV/AIDS” summed in Khorog. The contest was organized by Kalam civil society support center in the frameworks of “Community mobilization for HIV/AIDS prophylaxis among labor migrants and members of their families” project with financial support from the International Organization for Migration in Tajikistan.
The overall goal of the contest was to study the level of schoolchildren’s knowledge about causes of migration, its positive and negative aspects and ways of transmission of HIV/AIDS among labor migrants, Project Coordinator Savribonu Shanbezoda told the AP.
9, 10 and 11-grade pupils from secondary schools of Khorog competed in the contest. Nearly 40 essays and drawings were selected for the jury which included best teachers and education officials of Khorog. Essays written by Mavluda Alibekzoda, 11-grade pupil from the Aga-Khan lyceum, and Komil Abdolbekov, 10-grade student from the #10 secondary school were named best works of the contest.
Drawings of Manishvari Tohiri, pupil from the #2 secondary school, and Alidod Fozilov, pupil from the #7 secondary school, were named best drawings of the contest.
Contest participants were awarded with valuable awards.
