DUSHANBE. June 7. “Asia-Plus” — Mr. Sha Zukang, the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, arrived in Dushanbe on June 6 to take part in the high-level International conference on medium-term comprehensive overview of the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for life” for 2005-2015, which is due in Dushanbe on June 8-10, 2010.

The UN Under-Secretary-General is expected to conduct a joint press conference with Tajik Prime Minister Aqil Aqilov on the conference scheduled for June 9 and which will take place at Kohi Somon conference hall, Tajik Foreign Ministry told the AP.

According to the source, Mr. Sha Zukang is also planning to meet with the delegates and participants of the conference and Tajik officials.

According to the secretariat of the conference, the event will gather representatives from 192 UN member states, more than 60 international and regional organizations, financial institutes and NGOs, academic and business circles.

Heads of such organizations as United Nations, OSCE, SCO, ECO, ICO, CIS Executive Committee and EurAsEC will also attend the event.
