June 25. “Asia-Plus” — Introduction of tough border crossing procedures at the Gorno-Badakhshan direction of the Tajik-Chinese and Tajik-Afghan border is connected with the working visit of Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon to GBAO on the occasion of the 13th anniversary of the Tajik National Unity Day.

Such frontier control has been introduced along Tajik-Chinese and Tajik-Afghan border, the Tajik National Security Committee told the AP. “New border control procedures will not affect persons who travel to other countries through the territory of Tajikistan and persons with diplomatic passports,” the source said. The newly introduced regime will last till the end of the month.

Tajik law enforcement agencies are also in intensified regime till the end of this month.
