DUSHANBE, July 1, 2010, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ — A government session, presided over by President Emomali Rahmon, took place in Dushanbe on June 30.
According to presidential press service, the session considered more than 30 issues.
Minister of Transport and Communications Olimjon Boboyev reported on the process of implementation of the national strategy on use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) for development of Tajikistan. The minister noted that the main objective of the strategy was the creation of the e-government in Tajikistan. There are some 1.5 million Internet users in Tajikistan.
The president ordered Boboyev to take effective measures to ensure introduction of the electronic money transfer system in the country.
The chairman of Baljuvon district (Khatlon province) reported on the process of implementation of the complex program for development of international tourism in the district designed for 2010-2012.
Rahmon charged heads of relevant ministries and organizations to take measures to build a series of small modern hotels in Baljuvon.
The session also considered and endorsed the medium-term program of public expenses for 2011-2013, prognosis of Tajikistan’s main macroeconomic indicators for 2011-2013, and the concept of development of the country’s housing and communal services designed for 2010-2015.
Speaking at the session, the president noted that annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth should be planned at the rate of 7 percent in 2011-2013 and inflation for this period should be planned at the rate of 6.5 to 9 percent.
