DUSHANBE, July 14, 14, 2010, Asia-Plus – One of daughters of Tajik president – 16-year-old Zarrina Rahmonova – today made her debut as a newscaster for the Tajik national TV channel, Shabakai Avval (Channel One).  She presented news in English.  Zarrina Rahmonova has studied in Great Britain.

Shabakai Avval has run news in English for already three years.

According to an employee of Shabakai Avval, an average monthly wage of newscasters working for Shabakai Avval fluctuates from 400 to 500 somoni.

With seven daughters and two sons, President Emomali Rahmon has the largest family among the presidents of the former Soviet republics.   One of his daughters – Ozoda Rahmonova – is Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan and her husband – Jamoliddin Nouraliyev – is the First Deputy Finance Minister of Tajikistan.  President Rahmon’s elder son – Rustam Emomali – is member of the Dushanbe legislature, Majlis, also head of one of directorates within the State Committee for Investments and State-owned Property Management and the deputy head of the League of Youth of Tajikistan
