DUSHANBE, July 27, 2010, Asia-Plus — The Tax Committee is dissatisfied with the results of re-registration of economic entities in the country, the Tax Committee head Nusratullo Davlatov remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 26.
According to him, only 40 percent of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs operating in the country have been reregistered to this day and put information about their activities on the single national register.
“In this connection, the tax committee will submit a draft law on repeated re-registration for consideration to the government,” said the Tajik chef tax officer, “Probably, many of them have not been aware of the re-registration process or been just evading taxes, while others have stopped their operations. It is necessary to reveal all these enterprises.”
As of July 1, 2010, 87,700 economic entities have failed to reregister, according to the Tax Committee. In all, 57,664 economic entities, including 12,900 legal entities and 44,700 individual entrepreneurs, have been reregistered by the Tax Committee by July 1, 2010.
