KHUJAND, August 30, 2010, Asia-Plus – Distribution of land parcels for housing to residents of Khujand will begin in September, the source at the Khujand mayor’s office said.

1,300 persons who are on the waiting list will receive land parcels in Khujand’s neighborhoods ## 1 and 2 in the near future.

“Before distributing the land parcels the mayor’s office will set up a directorate for facilities under construction,” said the source, “The directorate will manage the construction of infrastructure, water supply and sewerage system, road building and electricity laying.  Part of these works will be paid by the mayor’s office.”

It is to be noted that the Khujand municipal redevelopment plan includes the construction of six kindergartens, one school, 25 apartment buildings, administrative center, and mini hotel in Khujand’s neighborhoods ## 1and 2, the source added.
