DUSHANBE, September 1, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A meeting to review political consultations between Tajikistan ad the United States took place in Dushanbe on August 31.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the U.S. delegation at the meeting was led by Mr. Robert Blake, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, and the Tajik side was led by Ms. Ozoda Rahmonova, Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan.

In May this year, the U.S. side drafted the plan of work on implementation of the results of bilateral consultations the United States-Tajikistan that took place in Washington in February 2010, the source said.

Yesterday’s meeting discussed issues related to implementation of points of the plan, including those concerning border security, fight against human trafficking, energy, agricultural reforms as well as expansion of the U.S.-Tajik education programs and cultural and scientific exchanges.
