DUSHANBE, September 1, 2010, Asia-Plus — In an address to students at Tajik National University in Dushanbe, President Emomali Rahmon today analyzed the current situation of higher educational institutions in the country and set tasks on improvement of the quality of higher education, according to presidential press service.

Addressing the meeting, the head of state also noted that attempts by some extremist forces to manipulate young students for their own agendas have been reported n the country in recent years.  “They are conducting propagation among students, using their inexperience and want to take under control the youth potential of the country,” Rahmon said, noting that negligence of some heads of universities promotes that.

He reminded that youth had been involved in the tragic events of the 1990s in Tajikistan due to their inexperience and youth had become victims of that war.  “I call on the youth not to lose political vigilance,” Rahmon stressed.
