DUSHANBE, September 1, 2010, Asia-Plus  — A new resource center for youth was officially opened in Hissar district on August 31, according to the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs.

The center-opening ceremony was attended by senior representatives from the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, local authorities as well as representatives from the World Bank Country Office in Tajikistan and local youth.

The center was established on an initiative of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs in the framework of the project, Creation of Socioeconomic Opportunities for Youth of Tajikistan, under support of the World Bank, the source said.

The center is dedicated to offer basic computer training for youth, develop their leadership qualities and civil consciousness, he added.

Similar youth resource centers have been established in Isfara and Danghara districts under financial support of the World Bank as well.
