DUSHANBE, September 16, 2010, Asia-Plus — A three-day seminar to discuss Tajikistan’s national education development strategy designed for 2011-2020 is concluding in Varzob today, according to the Ministry of Education (MoE).

The seminar has brought together local and international experts to consider issues related to quality management in education, education financing, organization of school meals in primary schools and so forth.

The national education development strategy for 2011-2020 has been developed by specialists from the Ministry of Education and will be submitted for consideration to the Government, following recommendations and suggestions adopted at this meeting,” the source at a MoE said, noting that introduction of a 12-year secondary education system is one of major topics of the seminar.

According to him, the seminar participants include senior representatives from the MoE, local and international experts, including representatives of the World Bank, the European Union, WFP, Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation, UNICEF, Russia’s Federal Education Development Institute, etc.
