DUSHANBE, September 18, 2010, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon endorsed the Dushanbe Diar project that will be implemented due funds provided by Qatar, Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation, Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, told reporters in Dushanbe on September 17 after a meeting with President Rahmon.

Tajik president gave the go-ahead for implementation of this project that is estimated at 180 million U.S. dollars, Qatari minister said.  According to him, construction of this neighborhood unit in Dushanbe will start in the near future.

“We also knew opinion of the president on the construction of Central Asia’s largest mosque in Dushanbe,” said Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al-Attiyah, “105,000 people will be able to attend this mosque simultaneously: 25,000 inside the mosque and 80,000 in the mosque yard.”  The construction of the mosque will also start in the near future, he added.

We will recall that Qatar is financing the construction of Central Asia’s largest mosque in Dushanbe and the implementation of a luxury real estate project in the Tajik capital.

The Dushanbe Diar project is expected to include residential towers, a five-star hotel, shopping malls, conference centers and gardens.  The project is reportedly Qatari Diar”s first in Central Asia.
