DUSHANBE, October 4, 2010, Asia-Plus — Tajik industrial bank for reconstruction and development, Tajprombank, has provided more than 21,600 microloans for a total of more than 57 million U.S. dollars over the past six years (2004-2010), the Tajprombank head Jamshed Ziyoyev said.
According to him, there were no any serious problems with repayment of loans. “Our bank provides microloans of US$100.00 to US$2,000 for six months at 2.5 percent interest for microloans in the US dollar and 3 percent interest for microloans in the somoni,” Ziyoev said.
We will recall that Tajprombank and the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) signed a loan agreement for 3 million U.S. dollars in Dushanbe on September 22. The loan is provided for one year at 12 percent annual interest and the amount of this loan will go to financing microloan program in Tajikistan. Tajprombank will select sub-loanees itself on the basis of certain criteria and US$1,000 to US$50,000 sub-loans will be provided for twelve months.
Founded in 1995, Tajprombank, with headquarters in Dushanbe, has its branches in all regions of the country, except Gorno Badakhshan.
