DUSHANBE, February 14, 2011, Asia-Plus — The board (Shuro) of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament considered amendments to the law on police at a February 14 meeting, presided over by the Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker, Shukurjon Zuhurov.
Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, said that the board also considered amendments to the laws on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, state secret, list of information containing state secret, youth and national youth policy, non-government pension funds, prosecutors, etc.
The board also discussed an agreement on training of personnel for antiterrorist bodies of member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the SCO antiterrorism convention.
All these issues will be considered at a regular sitting of the second session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fourth convocation that will take place on February 16, Sultonov said.
