DUSHANBE, February 14, 2011, Asia-Plus — A new modern sports complex, Avicenna, has been built in the administrative center of Hissar district.

A ceremony of an official opening of the complex, construction of which was financed by open joint-stock company (OJSC) Avicenna, took place on February 12.  The complex-opening ceremony was attended by Ms. Ruqiya Qurbonova, Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Maliksho Nematov, Chairman of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, Mr. Abdurazzoq Saidov, President of OJSC Avicenna, and senor representatives from the Hissar district administration.

The Avicenna sales manager Komil Kholiqov says the complex consists of two well-equipped gyms fro men and women and a large field house that may host international competitions.  “The complex was built in one and half years and sports goods that meet all international standards were delivered from Russia and China,” Kholiqov said.

Founded in 1998, OJSC Avicenna is one of Tajikistan’s largest soft drinks companies.  The company now has license for construction works.  OJSC Avicenna also owns workshop for producing tissues and a seasonal workshop for producing alcohol drinks and beers.
