The national fencing team of Tajikistan won a bronze medal in the foil team competition at the Asian Cadet Cup, which is being held in Tashkent.

"This is the first medal of this level in the history of independent Tajikistan, and it has become a significant step in the development of national fencing," – the National Fencing Federation of Tajikistan noted.

Three talented athletes, Sadia Murodova, Sumaya Murodova and Anisa Nasimova, performed for the honor of the republic. The young fencers were trained by experienced mentors Gulbakhor Samiyeva and Rustam Nasimov. The team was supported by the Fencing Federation of Tajikistan and the Committee on Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

As noted in the Federation, the historical bronze of Tajik athletes was not only a personal success for the girls and their coaches, but also an important event for the whole country. It showed that fencing in Tajikistan is developing and reaching a new level, and young athletes are able to compete with the leading schools in Asia.

The Asian Cadet Cup is being held in the capital of Uzbekistan from September 9 to September 13, 2025. The tournament brought together the strongest youth teams of the continent, which identify the best in three disciplines – rapier, sabre and sword. In the women's foil team competition, the hosts of the tournament, the national team of Uzbekistan, won the gold medals, Kazakhstan won the silver, and Macau and Tajikistan shared the bronze.

According to the organizers, 207 athletes from 11 countries are participating in the competition, including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Belarus, Iraq, Indonesia, Oman, New Zealand and Macau. The fights take place in the halls of "Pakhtakor" and "Yeshlik" and attract a lot of spectators.
