DUSHANBE, February 15, 2011, Asia-Plus  — In Tajikistan, inflation for January 2010 stood at 1.9 percent, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

2.8 percent rise in prices of products of food industry was reported last month and non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 0.2 percent in January.  Prices and rates for services rendered to the population fell 1.4 percent last month.

We will recall that 13.4 percent increase in prices of products of food industry was reported in 2010 and non-foodstuffs rose in cost by 5.5 percent last year.  Prices and rates for services rendered to the population increased by 4.0 percent in 2010. 

 The government expected the year-end inflation to stand at 7.0 percent in 2011.
