DUSHANBE, March 17, 2011, Asia-Plus — Tajik Foreign Minster Hamrokhon Zarifi yesterday met here with the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two exchanged views on the situation in the region.  In this context, Tajik minister underlined the important role of the CSTO in providing security and stability in Central Asia.

Zarifi and Bordyuzha also discussed prospects of further cooperation within the framework of the CSTO in combating terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking with regard to the current situation in Afghanistan.
