QURGHON TEPPA, April 18, 2011, Asia-Plus  — Khatlon governor Ghaybullo Avzalov has sharply criticized the pace of distribution of land plots to vulnerable families in the province.

His criticism, directed at the public commission for distribution of land plots n the cities and districts of Khatlon, came during an address to a meeting of regional administrators on April 15.

By government’s decree more than 8,000 hectares of lands have been allotted in the province for distribution to local residents.  “The decree was sent to some cities and districts of the province more than six months ago, but vulnerable families in some districts have not yet received land plots,” said Avzalov, “Little more 361 hectares of lands have been distribute so far.”

The governor asked local prosecutor’s office and anticorruption agency’s office in Khatlon to launch probe into land distribution cases.
