DUSHANBE, May 19, 2011, Asia-Plus — On Thursday May 19, outgoing Azeri Ambassador to Tajikistan Mageram Aliyev conferred here with President Emomali Rahmon at the end of his tenure to Tajikistan.

According to the presidential press service, Azeri diplomat presented the “Crescent and Star” Order to Tajik leader.

Instituted by the International Committee for Combating Terrorism, Drug Addiction and Environmental Crimes, INTERSAFETY, the order is registered with the UN Council for Public Awards (UNCOPA) and presented to leaders of Muslim countries and known Islamic figures for propagation of humanistic ideas, the source said.

In the course of the talks, Rahmon and Aliyev discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
