DUSHANBE, May 24, 2011, Asia-Plus  — On Monday May 23, Finance Minister Safarali Najmiddinov met with Mr. Yoshihiro Nakayama, Charge d’Affaires, Japan’s Embassy in Dushanbe.

According to Finance Ministry’s secretariat, the sides exchanged views on problems existing in financial and banking system and measure taken during post-crisis period.

Implementation of joint interstate projects in the fields of energy, industry and highway rehabilitation and construction, as well as issues related to expansion of bilateral trade cooperation, attraction of investments, development of entrepreneurship and business, and introduction of new technologies that could promote further economic development of Tajikistan were among major topics of the meeting.

The sides also considered the issues of financial and tax policy, forecast for Tajikistan’s external debt service and relations of Tajikistan with international financial institutions, the source said.
