DUSHANBE, May 27, 2011, Asia-Plus – The Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan is seriously concerned over increase in tax debts of some enterprises in the country.

The source says tax officers have inspected a number of enterprises in Roudaki and Hisor districts to find out the reason for increase in their tax debts.

“According to the findings of the inspections, one of the main reasons for increase in enterprises’ tax debts is negligence of their managers,” said he, “The “Boghiston” agricultural production cooperative in Hisor district now owes 622,000 somoni to the country’s budget, the tax debts of the “Hisor” enterprise at Tajik Agricultural University have reached 336,000 somoni, the “Rumi” open joint-stock company tax debts amount to 8,600 somoni, and the “Kalinin” agricultural production cooperative now owes 232,000 somoni to the budget.”

According to the source, inspections conducted in Roudaki district have revealed that a number of enterprises in the district now owes up to 800,000 somoni to the budget.

In the meantime, the enterprise directors attribute increase in tax debts to rising fuel prices.
